'Rover'

I haven't updated my blog for a little while now because i've been working on my individual project at university, i did my final presentation yesterday and the only thing that is definately left to go is the graduate show which opens the 10th of June at UWE. My project has been addressing the issue of the death of dogs in hot cars.

Giraffe/llama/alpaca.

So he was meant to be a giraffe, but turned out a little wonky and with a bit of a short neck so now he's a llama type creature.i sewed him from the inside out then had to find a space to stuff him, so his front isn't too neat :S i was initially going to give him a little wire frame body but he seems to stand up o.k by himself.

Some sewing

I've been doing alot of sewing recently, i'm starting to make my animal characters and things out of fabric, currently making a bird and elephants but i need to get some buttons for their eyes and proper wadding so these are just some basic heart decorations that i made stuffed with cotton wool for now. They're hand sewn so they're not totally perfect because of knots and things(now i feel the need to invest in a sewing machine!). I really like the fabric because they look all pretty and vintagey, which seems to be on trend at the moment.

sketching

(Rendered in copic markers/coloured pencil/biro)These are pretty old now, i did them as part of a summer drawing project set in first year, i think they look nice as a collection though which is why they appear on my c.v/tasterpage, i wish we did more projects like this because i've learnt alot more about drawing form since then and never seem to have enough time just to concentrate and do some sustained drawing on one project, i'm trying to get as much drawing as possible into my process book at the moment because i love it,looking forward to sorting out my final concept for my individual project so i can do some design detailing too.
